Your journey to The Hut

Departing from Port Solent, Gunwharf Quays or Southampton, your day begins the moment you step aboard Valentina. Settle into the spacious flybridge with a coffee or a glass of something chilled as we leave the marina behind and head out into the Solent. Along the way you’ll enjoy ever-changing views of Portsmouth Harbour, passing historic forts, naval vessels and the Isle of Wight coming into view across the water. As we cruise west along the island’s north coast, we’ll pass the world-famous sailing town of Cowes before Colwell Bay’s crystal-clear water and golden beach come into view. We’ll anchor just offshore, giving you the perfect view of The Hut sitting proudly above the beach. There’s no rush—this is all part of the experience.

When it’s time for your reservation, The Hut’s friendly tender crew will come alongside Valentina to take you ashore. Of course, every day on the water is different. If conditions in Colwell Bay aren’t suitable for anchoring, we’ll simply adjust the plan and berth in Yarmouth Harbour instead. From there, The Hut’s transfer team will collect you in The Hut’s own vehicle and take you the short distance to the restaurant. It’s a seamless alternative that ensures you can relax and enjoy the day while we choose the safest and most comfortable option for your charter.

After lunch, your charter doesn’t have to end. Many guests choose to continue exploring the western Solent, perhaps cruising towards The Needles and Alum Bay to admire the dramatic white chalk cliffs, or dropping anchor in one of the island’s sheltered bays for a swim.
